Our North Stars
Beginning with our first Gala, National CARES has recognized and honored the most loved, accomplished and generous among us by presenting them with the North Star Award. Those we’ve honored include the late Cicely Tyson, Rev. Dr. William Barber, Robert F. Smith, Taraji P. Henson, Tina Knowles, Dr. Yusef Salaam, Eddie and Sylvia Brown, Tarana Burke and Rev. Dr. Iyanla Vanzant.
