National CARES Mentoring Movement exists to secure and transform the lives of the nation’s most vulnerable population—our children living in poverty. Our mentors and local CARES Affiliate Leaders are devoted to advancing our young who are isolated and mostly written off by society. We are writing them in!

The Rising
In Wellness Mentoring Circles, young people are guided through an exciting, interactive curriculum led by CARES-trained facilitators who are psychologists, social workers, and our community volunteer mentors.
HBCU STEM Rising
This Rising program fortifies the STEM talent pipeline by engaging HBCU students to mentor middle schoolers, while our college mentors receive mentorship from committed corporate volunteers. Together, they form a powerful three-tiered ladder of resilience, excellence, and service.
University For Parents
Our workforce-readiness program for economically vulnerable parents assists moms and dads in overriding systemic barriers and healing those that are self-imposed, helping them move towards self-sufficiency and lifelong sustainability.
Affiliate Network
Our affiliate leaders across 58 U.S. cities effectively recruit and train adults to serve as mentors and deploy them to schools and youth-support organizations that are in need of Black volunteers to provide one to one mentoring.
